#29 Sad Cypress - Hercule Poirot (BBC)

John Moffatt portrays the great Belgian detective in a great radio adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel. Elinor Carlisle and Roddy Welman are very distant cousins happily engaged to be married when they receive an anonymous letter claiming that someone is "sucking up" to their wealthy aunt Laura. Elinor immediately suspects Mary Gerrard, the lodgekeeper's daughter, to whom their aunt has grown quite fond of. Elinor and Roddy expecting to inherit a tidy fortune from their aunt decide it would be in everyone's best interests to visit her. Soon after their visit tragedy strikes, Mary is dead and Elinor is on trial for her life. It's up to Poirot to save this young woman from the gallows.

From the BBC:
